Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as a reporter at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax police response to DUI instances in Charleston led to an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell the Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. O'Dell later worked at NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. The present role of O'Dell as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. In addition to co-hosting Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
